We were aboard the Miss Belmar Princess for the trip up to the NYC area for the recent tall ships and parade for the 250th celebration on July 3rd.  Captain Rich and his crew were masters of their craft as he seamlessly navigated through the anchored tall ships and parade in Upper New York Harbor.  At the end of the once in a lifetime experience, we returned to the Shark River Inlet and had to wait for the NJ Transit Bridge to open as it had been experiencing heat expansion.  He and his crew kept everyone informed as the hours passed.  After a severe destructive storm had safely passed and no end in sight for the opening of the bridge, Captain Rich made a command decision and safely navigated the boat alongside a residential dock.  All guests, to include the elderly and a wheelchair bound young lady, were safely off-loaded and were guided by his crew back to the Belmar Marina on foot.  Captain Rich and his crew should be commended for their professionalism and decision making all for the sake of our health and safety.  Job well done to all involved. We all know Captain Sully on the Hudson River, we now have Captain Rich on the Shark River!!

We went on the Tall Ship cruise on July 3rd and had quite the adventure!  We cruised up the coast to Sandy Hook and drove around all of the tall ships anchored for over an hour- beautiful!  Anchoring in front of the Statue of Liberty to watch the parade was fun. Even though We had extreme heat, a bridge that would not open, a tornado and had to be evacuated onto someone’s personal bulkhead, I never felt unsafe. The captain and crew were great in a difficult situation! I would def go again but for a much shorter trip.

My family and I loved our time on Miss Belmar for  the Fourth of July fireworks cruise.  It was also my birthday and they were kind enough to announce my birthday on board and invited me into the captains chair to “steer” the boat for a bit. Such an amazing and memorable experience. Such a great time. We got lucky with a whale siting! It was beautiful.  The boat ride was an fun adventure in itself. The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable.  I had 2 15yr old and an 8yr old and they all enjoyed it. They have snacks you can purchase but if you're going with kiddos I would pack a few for them.
